NOTES on the current appearance of the CC vs the enhanced appearance:-
The CC prototype is not quite how the final versions will look. Here is
a list of differences and points ...
- The nose wheel - this has been temporarily extended to allow fast
runway takeoffs - the normal CC nosewheel will be much shorter as the CC
was designed primarily for jump take-offs.
- All wheels - once airborne these will retract (of course the extended
nose wheel can't)
- The nose boom - this is all lead to counter an imbalance in the prototype's
weight. The final CC will have a longer body that will allow the nose boom
to be removed.
- The tail vertical stabiliser fins - the rudders were extended to provide
extra control on the runway and during initial tests - these are expected to be
shortened.
- The horizontal stabilizer - this may possibly be extended through the
vertical tail fins but high speed flight test results are needed before any
action is taken.
- The jet version doesn't require as big a bulge on the roof of the cabin. The
bulge accomodates part of the piston engine & turbo-chargers. The Jet version bulge
only has to enclose the pre-rotator.
- The tail booms - some work may be done to cater for ground scrape during
landings - again jump take-offs & no-roll landings need to be perfected before
this matter gets dealt with.
- The black hole above the right wing is the ballistic chute opening, this
will be removed on the final version.
