Newsflashes & Updates ...

Nov/Dec 2001 - Newsflashes & Rumours

  • Nov 2001: CarterCopter tests resume CarterCopter Website (go to press releases)

The CarterCopter has had a bad year with a number of mishaps & 2 changes of test pilot. The 1st test pilot died in an unrelated flying accident & the 2nd (trained from scratch) had to pull out due to the Sept 11 crisis (he is a miltary test pilot). The new pilot is yet again being trained from scratch & this keeps proving difficult.

  • Nov 2001: Moller Claims Skycar Hovers

Moller's latest news post claiming it hovers
What this release pointedly avoids saying, is if anyone was actually in it ?.

  • Nov2001: UPDATE: New Website & pics for SKEETER

Visit the 'Historical' page (menu item 7) for more info on the Saunders-Roe Skeeter.

  • 26Apr 2001: NEW: Link to HeliCycle Kitset - Designed by B.J. Schramm

B.J. Schramn is one of the legends of Kitset Helicopters. I was following his designs so long ago I don't want to mention (shows my age). Anyway B.J.'s latest design is the Helicycle and it is a very attractive lightweight kitset helicopter that should prove safe & fun.

  • 20Apr2001: NEW: Link to the Novel Aero Biker concept

This link is dedicated to the enthusiasm of the inventors that keep coming up with imaginative designs like this. Each of us has to draw our own conclusions as to where such a design may be heading. This particular concept is no less bold nor more bold than the Solo-trek or Moller's SkyCar.

  • 24Mar2001: Moller takes skycar 'on the road' (it still can't fly)

Moller still hasn't demoed his skycar other than at shows. It was recently exhibited at the Sydney Australia Big Boys Toys Show with some hoopla and fanfare. After reading the associated story, someone needs to tell his PR folk that claiming something is invented is one thing & implying that it does everything claimed about it when it doesn't, is simply dishonest.

    Moller's latest news post

Read Moller's remarks about how next major test will be with all engines operating at the same time (these remarks have since vanished from his web site) and then ask yourself how that fits with the press release claims re succesful military tests during war games - something is not quite right in this story.

  • 24Mar2001: Juan Manuel Lozano
